AC & DC Reactors
SCHAFFNER
Both AC and DC reactors act as harmonic current limiters. AC reactors protect equipment from power surges, while DC reactors improve input power factor.
AC Reactor
Both AC and DC reactors act as harmonic current limiters but the AC reactor protects more equipment due to being installed between the VFD and power source limiting exposure to power system surges and fluctuations.
- 4% 3-phase line reactor for 400 V network
- Reducing harmonics on the mains side
- Reducing commutation notches
- Limiting inrush current
- Reliable and economical solution for mitigating mains disturbances
DC Reactor
A DC Reactor is used to improve the input power factor of the inverter power supply and reduce harmonics. We suggest installing this option when the variable frequency inverter is rated more than 90KW. The power supply capacity is 10 times or more than that of the inverter's capacity.
Key Specifications:
- Reduce the current ripple in DC circuit, ensuring continuous current when inductance value reach to a certain degree
- Reduce and prevent the rectifier bridge damage and capacitance overheating caused by pulse current
- Improves power factor, reduce the AC pulse to the DC busbar
- Limit grid voltage transient
